RINGLING BROS. AND BARNUM & BAILEY®
BRINGS JOY TO CHILDREN IN HOSPITAL
AUSTIN, Texas – In a bright room filled with toys and games, all eyes were on Bonzo Crunch, Ambassador Clown for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Last Thursday, June 26th Bonzo Crunch, also known as Austin resident Rik Gern, spent half an hour entertaining kids at the Dell Children’s Medical Center. Some were just patients for the day, others were in for a longer stay, but everyone enjoyed a little time to forget about illness and focus on fun.
Parents, children, employees and volunteers all laughed as Bonzo Crunch juggled, sang, performed magic tricks and told silly jokes to a crowded room on the third floor. “It’s always a treat when the kids enjoy something they would not necessarily expect to find in the hospital,” said Special Events Coordinator for Dell Children’s Medical Center Ashley Davis. “We really appreciated Bonzo Crunch’s visit to entertain the patients.”
Bonzo Crunch’s visit was one of many stops he has been making around Central Texas to promote Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus coming to the Frank Erwin Center, August 20-24, 2008. Tickets are on sale now for multiple performances at TexasBoxOffice.com.
