GRAHAM COLTON BAND TO OPEN FOR KELLY CLARKSON AT THE THEATRE AT THE FRANK ERWIN CENTER

AUSTIN, TEXAS – If you’ve seen John Mayer, Maroon 5 or Counting Crows in concert, you may already be familiar with the Graham Colton Band. Though Colton himself is from Oklahoma City, he started his music career playing pubs and coffee houses in the Dallas area while attending Southern Methodist University. He quickly earned a local fan-base with his melodic pop sensibility, a sound not lost on Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz. After hearing some of Colton’s demo, Duritz asked him to go on their fall ’02 tour. Together with his newly formed band, the Graham Colton Band toured for a month, got a record contract and landed tour dates supporting John Mayer, Maroon 5, Dave Matthews and Guster. The GCB will be touring off their major label debut, Drive.


Kelly Clarkson has enjoyed a successful recording and touring career since
she became American Idol’s first winner in 2002. Now the Burleson, Texas
native is on her way back to her home state to perform off her successful
sophomore album, Breakaway, at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center.
Clarkson has not suffered from a ‘sophomore slump’, far from it! Her new
album has reached double-platinum status and she’s the top-selling female
artist of the year to date. She currently has two singles in the Top 10 on
Billboard’s Pop 100 chart. She released Breakaway in 2004 and is now on a
35-city tour across the United States and Canada, very likely delighting her
fans by singing them her hit singles ‘Miss Independent’, ‘The Trouble With
Love Is’ and current hits “Since U Been Gone” and “Behind These Hazel Eyes”.
