Press Releases October 13, 2003 TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA WILL ROCK THE FRANK ERWIN CENTER THIS DECEMBER Tickets go on sale Saturday, October 18th at 10am (Austin, TX)-Created in 1996, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra has become famous for writing and performing “rock operas.” They will travel to Austin later this year to perform at the Frank Erwin Center on Thursday, December 11 at 8p.m. Tickets for the concert will go on sale Saturday, October 18 at 10a.m. The group’s latest release, The Ghosts of Christmas Eve, is a DVD of performances from the band’s first two albums, Christmas Eve and Other Stories, and The Christmas Attic. Each album tells a story through the powerful performances of rock songs. The group’s most recently released album was Beethoven’s Last Night in 2001. VH1 describes the work of Paul O’Neill, the founder of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, as “symphonic rock works that blend the theatricality of Andrew Lloyd Webber, the poetic storytelling of Harry Chapin, the thematic drive of Yes and the raw edge of Aerosmith.” O'Neill once described the group’s purpose in creating music. "It's about creating great art. Great art will make you feel an emotion you have never felt before; seeing the pieta, the world famous sculpture by Michelangelo, can cause someone to feel the pain of losing a child even if they've never had one. And when you're trying for these emotions the easiest one to trigger is anger. Anyone can do it. Go into the street, throw a rock at someone, you will make them angry. The emotions of love, empathy and laughter are much harder to trigger, but since they operate on a deeper level, they bring a much greater reward.” Tickets for Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the Frank Erwin Center Thursday, December 11 at 8p.m. are $36, $41, and $51 VIP and GO ON SALE Saturday, October 18 at 10AM at all Texas Box Office Outlets (includes H-E-B stores in Austin, Bastrop, Bee Caves, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Round Rock, and San Marcos; Ft.
