SECURITY ISSUES REVIEWED AND ADDITIONAL
POLICIES IN PLACE TO ENSURE SAFETY

Since its inception, the Frank Erwin Center has maintained solid security
policies, safety measures, and event management guidelines for the benefit
of our guests.
Since the tragic incidents of September 11, the Erwin Center management
team has been diligently reviewing security issues and now has additional
policies in place to ensure your safety.
• only ticketed and credentialed individuals are permitted to enter the
Erwin Center during events.
•
no video cameras, detachable lenses, electronic equipment cases, backpacks,
knapsacks, large bags, banners (except during University of Texas Men's & Women's
basketball games), fireworks, tripods, camera cases, alcoholic beverages,
coolers, cans, bottles, wineskins, or foodstuffs may be carried into
the arena.
• pocket-sized portable radios and mini-TVs are permitted
• all containers, including handbags, are subject to visual inspection;
patrons who refuse to allow visual inspections of contents will be denied
entry to the arena
• unauthorized vehicles parked near or at the Erwin Center will be towed
immediately
• policy for arena pass outs remains the same, but guests may not carry
items into the arena upon re-entry
• smoking is prohibited within the Erwin Center.
Expect potential delays at Erwin Center entrances. Police officers are
scheduled to patrol the Erwin Center block the day and night prior
to events. An increased number of security officers are scheduled to man
each entrance.
While these policies are stricter than those in the past, they are
in place for your welfare and are subject to change without notice.
Thank you for your understanding and for your support.
