Jeff Dunham

Jeff Dunham Brings His Wooden Sidekicks to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center Next Month!

line

Jeff Dunham has mastered the art of ventriloquism as he delivers an uproarious comedy experience. Dunham doesn’t just introduce a few key players in his act; he brings them to life as you begin to feel like you are hearing a stand-up routine from not one, but from six comedians! He uses his posse to say things that normally no one would be able to get away with. Their crude humor will leave you astonished and rolling on the floor laughing because they comment on the things we always think about, but never dare to say!

His routine goes beyond any other largely due to his trunk full of puppets that make up in personality what they lack in size. There is Bubba J, the NASCAR-loving redneck, Sweet Daddy D, the pimp who is known for his signature move of lifting his lips and making a snake slither, and who can forget José, the Jalapeño pepper on a Stick. These characters will have you laughing from start to finish and quoting lines months later like Achmed the Dead Terrorist’s, “SILENCE! I KEEL YOU!” And who can forget the bitter, narrow-minded Walter, who almost anyone can relate and say, “Hey, that’s like the hostile old man down my street.”

Walter is also appearing on the campaign trail this fall. That’s right, Walter’s running for President! He is asking for your votes in this upcoming election, and according to Walter, he is the right choice “because the country needs my no-nonsense, straightforward approach to the issues.” He’s tackling certain issues like the No Child Left Behind Act in which he thinks that if the kids, like his grand kids, are being “morons,” they should be left behind and with no “stinkin’ forwarding address!” Be sure to check out his blogs and other videos as Walter’s campaign heats up at jeffdunham.com/walter.php.

According to Dunham, the best place to find material is in real life. “I’ve always maintained that it’s not until the mid-20s that you have enough of a life to draw from. There’s nothing better for a comic than to go through some bad stuff – and some good stuff, like getting married. Everybody can identify with life experiences,” says Dunham.

In addition to his successful specials on Comedy Central, Dunham has also swarmed the late night scene. He has appeared on “The Tonight Show” with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno and the “Late Show” with David Letterman. Dunham and his buddies have also made guest appearances on “Blue Collar TV” and CMT’s “Fast Living.” A Baylor graduate, this incredibly successful Texan was voted No. 1 in this year’s “Stand-Up Showdown” on Comedy Central, among many other awards. On the heels of the successful hit Arguing with Myself, Comedy Central plans to air Dunham’s new hour-long routine Spark of Insanity on September 23. If you aren’t a Jeff Dunham fan already, check out his DVD and you will be! You can check out Jeff Dunham and his hilarious associates live at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 2!
