Latin American performer Luis Miguel is an international star who is loved for both his well-produced albums and his strong live performances. He has developed a reputation for being hard working, and for delivering some of the most extraordinary vocals to ever be heard in Spanish popular music. His talents span across many styles of music as well. He is equally proficient at singing rancheros as he is with singing romantic ballads. Luis Miguel’s career soared to even greater heights when he took a chance, expanded his talents and started recording boleros.

Luis Miguel began singing at the age of four. As a child his father made him watch and analyze practically every movie, performance, and recording done by Elvis Presley in order to develop a high degree of showmanship. His actual recording career began in 1981 when he recorded his first album, 1+1 = 2 Enamorados. He made quite the transition from a boyishly charming child singer to an adult showman extraordinaire, with the album 20 Años in 1990. This was followed by a string of sold out shows that began in Mexico and spread throughout Latin America. And since 1990, Luis Miguel has been the most popular performer in all of Latin America. He has received dozens of awards ranging from Grammy’s to a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In the United States, he has become the only Latino artist to have two Spanish language albums be certified platinum, Romance and Segundo Romance.

Luis Miguel will be promoting his latest album, Cómplices, on this tour. The album was released on May 6, 2008. By May 14, 2008, Billboard 200 gave Miguel his eighth No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart, most of any artist in the history of the list, thus making Cómplices the singer’s highest charting album ever.
