Calling All Dancers!!



You’ve seen the hit television show, you’ve voted for your favorites, and now it’s time to check out the dancers live at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 12! The Top 11 contestants from season four will take over the stage and have you and your family dancing in your seats!

The show wrapped in August, with Texas native, Joshua Allen, in the No. 1 spot, earning the title “America’s Favorite Dancer.” Chelsie H, Comfort, Courtney G, Katee, Kherington, Gev, Will, Mark, Twitch, and Jessica will also join Allen for many show-stopping performances. The audience can expect to see some of their favorite dances from the show performed live plus brand new numbers choreographed especially for the tour.

The format of the television show involves the judges traveling across the country for auditions and giving call-backs to their top 20 favorites. Then the dancers move on to the performance round where they work with professional choreographers and perform in pairs. When the field is narrowed down to 10 finalists, it is then up to America to vote on who goes home and who moves on to the next round.

Permanent judge Mary Murphy sits alongside Nigel Lythgoe, head judge and creator of the show. Lythgoe worked with Simon Fuller to also create the show that needs absolutely no introduction, “American Idol.” Lythgoe was a member of a dance group in the late sixties where he choreographed numerous routines, even for The Muppet Show! He is a tough critic, and his judging style has even been compared to the always bitter Simon Cowell, enough to earn the nickname “Nasty Nigel!”

Enjoy one of our spectacular VIP Pre-Show Dinners before catching the spectacular dancers from “So You Think You Can Dance.” Compare your favorites and talk about the Top 10 with other fans of the show and then catch them all LIVE inside the arena. The VIP Pre-Show Dinner is hosted in our very own Lone Star Room and is always wonderful and delicious and the perfect way to kick off the evening before heading to the show. VIP Pre-Show packages for So You Think You Can Dance are $82 and $91.50 and include a concert ticket, dinner ticket, parking in The University of Texas Trinity parking garage (subject to availability) and entrance through the Red River street level doors. A cash bar will be available for your convenience. Dancers will not make an appearance at the dinner.
