Disney stars, The Cheetah Girls, will set out on a 50-city tour of North America this fall…and it all begins here in Austin, Texas at the Frank Erwin Center! The Cheetah Girls have reached star status with the success of two previous Disney Channel Original Movies and soundtracks as well as finding success as real recording artists with their debut album, TCG. Now the wildly popular female trio will be promoting their latest film and soundtrack, The Cheetah Girls One World.

The Cheetah Girls began as a 2003 Disney Channel Original Movie based on the 16-book novel series created and written by Deborah Gregory. The series, which began in 1999, is about a female vocal group seeking success and fortune. The book series was then adapted into what was supposed to be merely a series of Disney Channel Original Movies. But the widespread success and popularity of the film inspired the creation of a legitimate girl group, and has made The Cheetah Girls a must see group of performers. Now it seems the lives of Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan, and Kiely Williams truly are based on the characters in Gregory’s novels, as they have achieved success and fortune as a female vocal group.

It only took two years for this girl group to gain a substantial fan base and top the charts with their double-platinum soundtrack. The Cheetah Girls 2 movie made its debut in 2006 and the soundtrack entered the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, topped the soundtrack chart and was certified platinum. After the success of the first two Cheetah Girls movies, the group went on their first national tour. The 86 date tour made over $26 million and broke tour merchandise records.

Now The Cheetah Girls will be promoting the recently aired, The Cheetah Girls One World, in which the girl group travels to India to star in a Bollywood film. Later the girls find out that only one girl is needed for the film, causing the girls to face the tough decision of staying together or going out on their own. Because the movie is filmed in India, the soundtrack is full of not only hip-hop and R&B tracks but some Indian-influenced music as well.
