Wranglers in Fight for Division Title in July


The Austin Wranglers, currently in a three way tie for first place in the Southwest Division, hit the road for two consecutive weeks in July to face Southwest Division rival the Rio Grande Valley Dorados followed by the Lubbock Renegades.
The Wranglers return to U.S. Army Field at the Frank Erwin Center on Saturday July 26th to face the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings, on Fan Appreciation Night. A former Austin Wrangler assistant, BattleWings’ head coach Jon Norris and his squad are currently part of the log jam for 1st place in the division. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

Since taking over the starting role, Wrangler quarterback Andy Hall has led the team to a 4-2 record with 34 touchdown passes and three rushing. Wide receiver John Roberson ranks 2nd in the league in touchdown receptions with 24 and also in receiving yards per game averaging over 117 yards.
Beginning a two week road series, the Wranglers will travel to Lubbock to face the Renegades, led by head coach Rodney Blackshear. Blackshear’s squad is currently ranked third in the league in scoring offenses. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11.
Following the July 11th game with Lubbock, the Wranglers will head south to Hidalgo, Texas to face the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19.
