casting crowns

If you have not heard of Casting Crowns, you are missing out on one of the most popular Christian rock bands to date. Casting Crowns seamlessly blends rock music with a Christian message to deliver an exciting and memorable show! The band is composed of seven members who all strive to put on a concert that will both inspire and please the audience. Norman Miller, music industry veteran and Casting Crowns manager says, “In all my 44 years in various aspects of the music business, I have not seen an artist impact sales, radio and touring on the tremendous level that Casting Crowns has, or as quickly. This artist truly has become the face of Inspirational/Gospel music, and I congratulate them on the Grammy nominations today.” Miller is referring to the three Grammy nominations that Casting Crowns has received for the upcoming Grammy awards. With three new Grammy nominations on top of a Grammy win in 2006, it is easy to see why Miller thinks so highly of the band!

Casting Crowns formed in 2003 and is led by Mark Hall who is the lead singer and songwriter for the band. Hall is a full-time youth pastor and the other six members of the group are all actively involved in student ministry in the Atlanta area. The group has received many accolades in addition to their 2006 Grammy including an American Music Award and multiple Gospel Music Dove Awards serving as the industry’s “Group of the Year” for the last three years. Earlier this year, Casting Crowns set a RIAA record as the fastest Christian music artist in its career to have its first two albums certified platinum, and only the second in RIAA history ever to achieve it!

Casting Crowns latest album, The Altar and the Door, has set the bar even higher for the group! The album is poised to have the No. 1 top-selling album in Christian music for 2007! The first single from the album “East to West” spent a record-setting 14 weeks at No. 1 on Christian AC radio. During the fall tour of The Altar and the Door, the band performed for over 200,000 fans in 36 cities that included 20 sellouts! “This Tour has been nothing short of amazing,” says Shane Quick of Premier Productions, who promoted the Greensboro date along with 5 other sold-out markets. “I’ve never seen crowds like this in my six years of promoting Christian events. I’ve never seen a band connect with the church like Casting Crowns. I think we’re seeing one of the greatest bands of our time. God Bless Casting Crowns!”

You can catch Casting Crowns live at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on April 4 and hear for yourself what many have already proclaimed as the best Christian rock group of our time.
