Rock Band Live Tour Brings Hottest Bands to Austin!

The musical video game phenomenon of Rock Band™ is coming to Austin! This fall, the Rock Band Live Tour will travel across the country with headline acts Panic At The Disco and Dashboard Confessional, together on stage, with very special guests Plain White T’s, The Cab, and possibly YOU! For Rock Band™ die-hards, this interactive concert tour will let Rock Band™ bands compete in head-to-head competitions for the chance to play on the main stage in-between the tour acts’ sets. All of the headliners have made separate appearances around Austin in the past, but for the first time ever, audiences will have the opportunity to catch all three sharing the stage on November 13 at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center.

Dashboard Confessional, led by critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba, has had three consecutive gold records - The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most (2001); A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar (2003); and Dusk and Summer (2006). The band toured with U2 and wrapped up their last headline run in 2006 with a sold out Madison Square Garden show. They are putting the finishing touches on a new album, which was produced by Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger. Armed with his acoustic guitar and soul-baring song lyrics, Carrabba has become one of the most influential songwriters of his generation.

Hailing from Las Vegas, and just barely out of high school, emo-pop group Panic at the Disco burst onto the music scene in 2005 with their debut album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. Their debut went double platinum with album sales of 2.2 million copies worldwide and included the single “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” that won “Video of the Year” at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Their eagerly awaited sophomore album released this year, Pretty.Odd., shows a matured Panic at the Disco, a transformation well-received as it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

Joining Panic At The Disco and Dashboard Confessional are very special guests Plain White T’s and The Cab. The Plain White T’s are about to release Big Bad World, the highly anticipated follow-up to the band’s platinum-plus-selling breakthrough release Every Second Counts. They are still feeling the high of the mega-hit single “Hey There Delilah,” which rocketed to No. 1 in 10 countries, was the fourth song in history to sell over 3 million digital downloads, and was considered to be the song of the summer in 2007! The Cab is the next up-and-coming band that will soon become a household name. They released their debut album, Whisper War, on April 29 through Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen.

With the combined talents of Dashboard Confessional, Panic at the Disco, Plain White T’s, and The Cab, in conjunction with the interactive element, the Rock Band Live Tour promises to be an unforgettable night full of engaging songs and enthusiastic performances.
