Citizen Cope Performs at Hogg Memorial Auditorium

The UT Performing Arts Center and C3 invite you to an intimate solo acoustic performance from one of music’s most poetic souls! On Friday, October 10 at 8pm, Citizen Cope brings his unique mix of ‘70’s soul, folk, hip-hop and funk to Austin for one night only at the UT PAC’s Hogg Memorial Auditorium.

Clarence Greenwood, a.k.a. Citizen Cope, takes snapshots of the world around him, turns them into universal truths and sets them to the simplest of melodies and soul-stirring grooves. What he puts into music is his whole life: lots of time in a small town in Texas with an aunt and uncle, a year in Mississippi, up to Washington, D.C. with his mother and sister. All throughout, the music he heard in these places was his escape.

Cope’s poignant tunes have been used in movie soundtracks and television commercials, and the song, “Sideways” was produced and sung by Cope on Carlos Santana’s multi-million selling album, Shaman. Citizen Cope digs into his three-album catalogue for this intimate solo acoustic performance.

Tickets for this exciting solo acoustic evening with Citizen Cope are on sale now at all Texas Box Office outlets, online at utpac.org, and by phone at 512-477-6060 or 800-982-BEVO.
