Jeff Dunham

Get Ready for a Spark of Insanity!

line

He’s no dummy to the fine art of ventriloquism, and his ability to make his dummies seem like much more than just wood is almost supernatural! Jeff Dunham has the unique ability to bring his characters to life when he takes the stage. Not only does he impress the audience with skills that even other established ventriloquists would admire, but he also pushes the envelope with outlandish routines and acts that are just flat out funny. Dunham will be bringing a suitcase full of laughs to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 2!

Inspired by the late Edgar Bergen, Dunham built his first dummy at the age of eleven from a blueprint he found in a book on ventriloquism. He was audited by the IRS at the age of thirteen for making a pretty good chunk of change performing for private groups and organizations. With such a successful career as a child, it’s no wonder that his talent has launched him to the top of the comedy circuit.

Dunham’s impressive resume backs up his high standing position in the world of comedy. He was voted “Funniest Male Stand-Up Comic of the Year” at the American Comedy Awards in 1998, was twice voted “Ventriloquist Of The Year” at the National Ventriloquist Convention, and was given the “Outstanding Service Award” for his contributions to the art of ventriloquism. In Las Vegas, he was voted one of the “Top Ten Showroom Entertainers” in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He was even featured in a national commercial for the Hertz rental car company with his wooden pal, Walter. The list of accomplishments goes on, making Dunham one of the most well-known entertainers around.

Everyone wants a piece of this guy! He’s had guest appearances galore as well as spots on popular entertainment shows. He had a recent guest appearance on the NBC show “She Spies.” He has also been seen on “The Tonight Show,” with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, and he’s been featured on “Entertainment Tonight” and “Good Morning America.” A recent profile on CBS “60 Minutes” allowed the comic to be interviewed by correspondent and actress Candice Bergen, daughter of the legendary ventriloquist Edgar Bergen, Dunham’s childhood inspiration. Between jokes and laughs, Ms. Bergen called Dunham “flat out FUNNY!” HBO, Comedy Central and Showtime have each featured him in comedy specials, and he is a regular guest on numerous comedy shows all over broadcast and cable television.

Dunham’s diverse box full of friends is what makes his performances so entertaining. Peanut, Walter, José Jalapeño, Achmed the Terrorist, and an unusual super hero named Melvin all come together to help Dunham make his audience roll with laughter. He has two new hilarious friends, Sweet Daddy D, the pimp, and the NASCAR loving redneck, Bubba J. Get your tickets now for a night full of side-splitting laughter with Jeff Dunham!
