Kenny Chesney

Chesney Bringin’ Good Times and Memories to the Frank Erwin Center

line

chesneyGet ready to put on your boots and grab your cowboy hat as Kenny Chesney rides into the Frank Erwin Center on May 1. Chesney is gearing up once again for another summer tour filled with fun music and good times. When Chesney rolls into the Frank Erwin Center, he will be bringing one of the largest productions ever into Austin! The upcoming tour includes 55 trucks, 28 buses and 5000 amps of sound! Not bad for the kid from Luttrell, Tennessee.

Chesney’s current album, Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates draws from his life experiences and connects with the audience on experiences that everyone can relate to. “The more you live, the more you know…and the more you experience, the more you reflect on everything around you” says Chesney. He has certainly experienced many things since his humble beginnings playing only for tips at local bars. He holds multiple platinum records and is the reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year. With all this success, one might think that continuing to put out successful albums is stressful for Chesney. He thinks otherwise. “Look, I believe we’re here to enjoy life, to have fun…to get into it with your buddies and tear it up…but you can search your soul and have fun.” We see this idea of searching your soul, but still having fun in Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates. Says Chesney “I’m calling it the 'Poets and Pirates Tour' because everyone I see at my shows has a little bit of both inside.”

The “Poets and Pirates Tour” is shaping to be even more successful than Chesney’s previous summer tour in which he played to over 1.2 million. For his current tour, Chesney will be performing in 13 NFL stadiums with his show at Gillette stadium selling out in 15 minutes! Chesney is as excited as anyone. “You know it’s just surreal, but what a way to start out our year and our tour.” Chesney thinks the success of his albums and tours can be attributed to the laid back attitude of his music. “I try to make these shows be the kinda thing people can build a summer around- all the memories, the friends, the good times” he says.

Be sure to start your summer off right and let the good times roll with a trip to see Kenny Chesney May 1 at the Frank Erwin Center.
