The Harlem Globetrotters

Bringing Goodwill & Historic Skills to Austin

The Harlem Globetrotters

The World Famous Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their 2007 “Nothing Like It” World Tour to Austin on Thursday, February 8 at 7 p.m. Prepare to be dazzled as the Harlem Globetrotters show off their amazing athleticism, skill and personality at the Frank Erwin Center against the New York Nationals. Over 124 million fans have seen the Globetrotters play in 118 nations since their beginning in 1927.

“There is nothing like a Harlem Globetrotter basketball game and because of the players’ commitment and unique ability to balance great basketball with entertainment, innovation and community, there likely never will be,” said Globetrotters’ Chairman, Mannie Jackson. “The Globetrotters 2007 World Tour features the team’s strongest roster to date in terms of athleticism, skill and personality. There will be nothing like the Globetrotters’ game in Austin.”

Celebrating over 80 years, the Globetrotters continue to live up to their billing as ‘Ambassadors of Goodwill.’ Since 1993, the Globetrotters have donated over $11 million dollars to various causes and charities, and continue their involvement in every community they visit.

The Harlem Globetrotters were only the fifth team to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002 and followed that achievement with inductions into the Black Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame and the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame. They have also been recognized as the most popular sports team in 1999, 2000 and 2002.

Be a part of the action at the Erwin Center on Thursday, February 8 as the Harlem Globetrotters show off their amazing ball-handling and comedy routines while keeping the timeless classics from throughout history.
