Get in the Action..Watch Longhorn Women’s Basketball and the No. 1 Recruiting Class in the Nation!

The Texas Women’s basketball team has made an NCAA Final Four showing and two NCAA Sweet 16 (final 16) appearances in the last four years – and this year’s 2005-06 squad should be in the hunt to make a similar run for national prominence!

Head Coach Jody Conradt’s Longhorns are coming off last year’s 22-9 campaign and a second-place finish in the Big 12. The Longhorns will return one of the most exciting players in the nation —All-America junior sensation Tiffany Jackson. Last year, Jackson dominated play and grabbed All-America honors leading the Horns in scoring (18.3 ppg) and rebounding (8.7 rpg).

The Longhorns graduated six players from last year’s squad. However, in true Conradt fashion, these seven have been replaced by the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation according to numerous recruiting services.

Sporting All-American honors, 2005 National Players and Players of the Year, this new class of freshman women are the largest women’s basketball class ever – and arguably the most talented overall to enter UT.

Texas has an incredibly demanding and exciting schedule in 2005-06. The home contests are all played at the Frank Erwin Center, and include matchups with national powers Duke and Connecticut along with Big 12 rivals and fellow nationally-ranked teams Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma and Kansas State.
