Family Fun in February

This is the month for love, and we definitely think you will love what we have planned for February here at the Frank Erwin Center! We have a lot of family events planned for this month
and we will also have tickets going on sale for future events.

We'll start February off with the Gibson Grand Slam Jam Tennis Shootout. This will be the fifth year tennis stars and celebrities will take their tennis playing talents and pit them against each other all for a good cause. The Grand Slam Jam Foundation will donate their proceeds to the Hope Foundation, a cancer research organization. For those familiar with tennis, Andy Roddick, Taylor Dent, Donald Young and Host Jim Courier are on board for this year's Shootout. And for those of you who aren't as familiar with tennis, rest assured there will be celebrities here who you will recognize! You won't want to miss this event!

But if you are no match (sorry) for tennis, perhaps we can interest you in a game of basketball played by the Harlem Globetrotters? Not only are these men talented basketball players, but whether you are six or 60, their tricks are truly amazing and amusing. The tradition of the Trotters hasn't stood up for 79 years for nothing! They will be here February 10.

The week after the Globetrotters leave, Elmo and his friends will take center stage! Sesame Street Live will be at the Erwin Center February 17-20. These adorable and fuzzy creatures will have you thinking about sunny days and everything being A-OK.

If you are an arena football fan, the Austin Wranglers will keep you on your feet at the Frank Erwin Center Friday, February 11 when they play the Los Angeles Avengers, and on Friday February 25 when they battle it out with the Georgia Force. If you're a basketball fan, the Men's and Women's Longhorns basketball teams have several home games this month. Both teams will be playing their Aggie rivals, so be sure to get to the game.

You can also start making your plans for March! Tickets are already on sale for “Sisters in the Spirit” and tickets will go on sale this month for Steven Curtis Chapman and Meet the Browns. We know it's only February, but be sure to be on the lookout for tickets going on sale in March for the world famous Lipizzaner Stallions performance. We hope to see you soon!
