Hot Summer Days

It’s been a busy summer and I have to say, I’m glad to see September arrive. I’m looking forward to cooler temperatures, the leaves changing colors, Longhorn football and new fall fashions. The cooler temperatures are the biggest plus for me; call me a sissy if you want, but I was not cut out for high 90’s and 100+ degree weather.

While it’s cooling down outside things are only beginning to heat up inside the Erwin Center! Rock gods Metallica hit the stage September 3 and less than two weeks later on September 15, alterna-rockers Incubus will rock your world. Incubus is this month’s featured act, so make sure you read all about the California rockers.

Also coming to the Erwin Center this fall, Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married?” starring Kelly Price October 9 & 10, Larry The Cable Guy October 15, Barney’s Colorful World October 19 & 20, the Beastie Boys October 22, and for all the folksters out there, Peter, Paul and Mary November 4.

Thanks for joining me for this month. September is also special to me because it marks my one-year anniversary as a full-time employee here at the fabulous Frank Erwin Center. You can usually find me at the scorer’s table at UT basketball games, but this month I am pulling double duty as editor of Applause as well. Hope to see you at the Erwin Center soon!
