McLachlan Keeping Busy During Her Time Off

The earthy sound of Canadian folk singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan will fill the Frank Erwin Center July 23. McLachlan has been shining on the Canadian folk scene since she was twenty years old. After taking a couple of years off, McLachlan is promoting her newly released album Afterglow. During her downtime she focused on her family life and her philanthropy, the Sarah McLachlan Music Outreach, which offers free music education classes to inner city youths whose school music programs have been cut due to lack of funds.

Before her hiatus McLachlan was setting the pace in the music scene. McLachlan is the founder of Lilith Fair, an all-women tour started in 1997. More than two million fans came out to support Lilith Fair and raised over $7 million to donate to charities such as the Breast Cancer Fund and LIFEbeat.

Tickets for Sarah McLachlan at the Frank Erwin Center, Friday, July 23 are $45, $55 and $65 and are ON SALE NOW at all Texas Box Office Outlets (includes H-E-B stores in Austin, Bastrop, Bee Caves, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Round Rock, and San Marcos; Ft. Hood Bldg. #136 and Renaissance Records in Killeen), charge-by-phone at 512/477-6060 or order on-line at TexasBoxOffice.com. Convenience charges may apply. All information subject to change. The Frank Erwin Center is a smoke-free facility. Convenient parking is available within walking distance in nearby state and university lots. For more information, call 512/471-7744.
