Incubus
Wednesday, September 15

Fresh New Incubus In Austin 1991
was the birth year of the Southern California band Incubus. At
the time Brandon Boyd, Mike Einzier, Dirk Lance, and Jose Pasillas
were just a few sophomore guys trying to pass the time. Funk rockers
such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers heavily influenced their early
music. Through the years the Incubus sound evolved with the fashion
of music. In more recent years, the addition of bassist Ben Kenney
served as a catalyst toward the new Incubus inspiration.
“Ben represents a fresh, new perspective in the band,” says
Einzer. Kenney brings that new edge to their latest effort, A
Crow Left of the Murder.
For this album Incubus went to Atlanta to work with producer
Brenden O’Brien, who has worked with alternative bands, such as
Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. Unlike their previous trips to the
studio, A Crow Left of the Murder took a mere four weeks to record.
In the past Incubus could be in the studio for eight to nine weeks.
Incubus will jam at the Frank Erwin Center, September 15.
