Incubus Makes Themselves Again

Fighting all odds, Incubus has become one of the most popular alternative rock bands of the 21st century. In 1991 the band entered the rock world as tenth grade students in the San Fernando Valley. Heavily influenced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus infused rap-metal and post-grunge rock into their early sound. Incubus released is first six-song EP by a major-label in 1997. By the end of that year the band was touring and opening for top bands like Korn, Sublime, 311, and Primus and had landed a spot in the Ozzfest tour and the Korn Family Values tour.

Incubus followed up with a year of solid touring right after the release of Make Yourself, which lasted for the remainder of 1999. The band also put out the single, “Pardon Me” which began to play all over radio stations across the country. The band then hit the road again, this time overseas, playing shows with Queen Adreena. They returned home at the end of May to go back on a tour of the United States with long time friends 311. To start off 2001 the band released the album’s third single “Drive.” Shortly after, “Drive” took off, moving quickly up to the top of the Modern Rock Charts eventually hitting the #1 spot.

With their sound still fresh to fans’ ears Incubus released their 3rd major label album, called Morning View in 2001. It was Incubus’ last performance in 2002 that brought several eras for the band to a close as the band looked on to playing new music. In 2003 they began writing for their next record. In October, while finishing up their new album, the band released the live album of Lollapalooza, containing a new unreleased song, titled “Pistola.” By December the new album produced by Brendan O’Brian was complete and in 2004, Incubus dropped their fifth album, titled A Crow Left of The Murder.
